Legendary Acts Converge on SETX this Summer

Get ready for a taste of good old fashioned rock 'n roll because two great bands will pair up for a co-headlining performance in Southeast Texas later this summer.

Ford Park announced Tuesday rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd and Heart will perform inside Ford Arena on Sunday, Aug. 22. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m., Friday, at all Ticketmaster outlets including the Ford Park box office, HEB on Dowlen Road in Beaumont, FYE at Central Mall in Port Arthur and the Beaumont Civic Center for $35.50 to $75.50.

Heart is preparing to release its first album of new material in several years. "Red Velvet Car" is set to drop in late August, and the band is planning an expansive world tour in support of the new CD.
Heart, which features sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, has not performed in Beaumont since the mid-80s. The band is best known for its string of hits such as "Barracuda," "Magic Man," "Dreamboat Annie," "Never," "These Dreams," "Crazy on You" and others.

"In addition to recording so many hit songs, both of these groups have greatly influenced future generations of music," said John Hughes, general manager of Ford Park, in a press release. "We are excited to bring these two legendary bands together in Ford Arena."

All seats for the Lynyrd Skynyrd and Heart concert are reserved. Visit http://www.fordpark.com/ for more information or purchase online at http://www.ticketmaster.com/.
